Engineering Simulations: Using modelling and simulation tools to study the performance of buildings and indoor and outdoor environments, and to verify the effectiveness of design solutions before construction or when assessing existing facilities. Applications include fire and smoke spread modelling, evacuation and pedestrian movement analysis, environmental simulations, and the assessment of thermal comfort and indoor climatic conditions. The results support the evaluation of design alternatives, the understanding of expected system behaviour, and the improvement of safety, comfort, and environmental performance.
