In 1989 Hamsho Group for Trade and Construction began contracting through its two arms, Middle East Contracting Company and Hamsho Construction, starting in residential and government buildings. Within a few years it expanded into other fields, among them road cutting and paving and public utilities — drinking-water and saline-water networks, and electricity and telephone lines.
