The plant is located in the Abu Al-Shamat area of Rural Damascus, near the town of Dumayr, and extends over an area of 14,000 dunams comprising the plant area, the limestone quarry area and the basalt quarry area. At the plant, the raw materials are crushed and ground, then prepared for firing in the kiln, giving clinker, which is ground to produce Portland cement, one of the finest grades of cement.
